Welcome to our Autumn newsletter. I hope you are all keeping well and doing your best to prevent a second wave of Covid.

Firstly, its with sad news that Lucinda is leaving us. Her last day will be Friday 9th October. We have all genuinely enjoyed working with Lucinda. She worked through lockdown with us and has supported so many children in her short time with us. She is now taking a career change by taking a beauty training course. We wish her all the luck in the world and we will miss her dearly.

Secondly, Jess is extending her maternity leave and is scheduled to return on 2nd January 2021. We are missing her dearly.

In both the baby/toddler and the school room, we are talking “All About Me.” For this we are chatting about how we are different to one another and what similarities we have. We also talk about the colour of our eyes, skin, and hair. We are asking if you could send in photos of your family and house please. If you prefer, you could email them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Throughout October we will still require you to provide a cold packed lunch, with items packed in small bags and a labelled drinks bottle for your child. Please, please can they be packed in a disposable bag instead of the current lunch bags. This keeps the risk of contamination low. Please write your child’s name on the carrier bag.

Please remember the procedure for dropping off and picking up of your child. Do not park down the side of the building or outside the fence as this is a shared access with other businesses and you will be blocking their right of way, its also dangerous for other parents/cares dropping off their children. Please park in the usual place. Please do not enter the garden, we will take your child from you with your encouragement. The front door is now completely out of bounds. Please be respectful to staff, we are all doing the best we can through these times.

Please remember to pack outdoor coats and jumpers, as we need to keep windows and doors open for extra ventilation throughout this pandemic. We also intend to have a lot of outside play and go out for walks around the village or on the moor.

Please like and share our Facebook page for Edgemoor Nursery. We would really appreciate it.

I’d also need to point out that you can’t send your child in with any of the COVID symptoms, this includes a tempreture, cough or loss of taste and smell. This is a very serious time in our lives and we need to be mindful of not spreading or picking up the coronavirus.

We have had a few children that have had to go home with symptons (and thankfully have tested negative) but we have been struggling to get in touch with some parents. If you think you may be out of reach through your childs session with us, please provide us with another number to get you on, as speed is of the essence when dealing with these symptons.

Please feel free to give us any feedbackon our website.

If you need to get in touch with me at any time (weekends and evenings included) please email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Keep safe and keep well.

From Debbie and the Edgemoor team
