March Newsletter 2021

Wow, where did that time go? Can you believe it’s been nearly a year ago we went into the first lock-down? What a year it’s been! Thankfully, now with lots of light at the end of the tunnel, we can make big steps forward. However, personally I have received letters telling me that I need to shield until the 31st March!

I am absolutely gutted but looking at this on a positive point, I can work from home with less interruptions, be on the end of the phone and pick-up emails but best of all, my wonderful team will continue to run Edgemoor Nursery with the care and dedication they have already done so far. A massive thank you to Helen, Charlotte, Steph, Donna, Louise, Lucy and Philippa, they are an amazing team.

I will continue to supply hot soup or spaghetti hoops through March at no extra cost to you. I just feel as we can’t reheat meals brought in from home (due to government guidelines), providing something hot at lunchtime is an option you can choose to use through the month of March. I have compiled a daily menu for you to choose from which I’ll update from time to time.

March menu:

Monday – Cream of Tomato Soup
Tuesday – Baked Beans
Wednesday – Spaghetti Hoops
Thursday – Baked Beans
Friday – Cream of Tomato Soup

All the above will be served with bread and butter.

Please let me know in advance what your child would like by using the message form.

You may be aware that it’s World Book Day on Thursday 4th March 2021. We would like to invite you to dress your child/children in their favourite dressing up costume or book character. This will happen over the three days of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Please don’t feel pressured to do this, it’s just an option you might like to have? We will continue to read to the children and I will broadcast a story to them via WhatsApp using hand puppets over the three days. Who said I shouldn’t take part? The staff will be dressing up too, this could be your entertainment for next week!!

If you send your child in wearing wellies, could you please pack them up with a pair of shoes or slippers to change into once inside the nursery.

Also, please be mindful that doors and windows have to be kept open for ventilation due to the pandemic which is now making the building a lot cooler. Please be sure to dress your child with an extra layer and a spare jumper in their bag. Don’t worry, we make sure they are always cosy and warm.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact myself, Helen or Charlotte by phone 01822 855644 or my email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Keep safe and careful

From Debbie, Helen, Charlotte, Steph, Donna, Louise, Lucy and Philippa.
