Autumn Newsletter November 2021

Hello parents, carers, grandparents, aunties and uncles,

Aren’t the autumn colours so beautiful around us, its by far my favourite season.

I am hoping to restart our annual wellie walks. I would like to arrange this for a Sunday in the next couple of weeks (dependent on the weather). The plan would be to leave from the nursery and walk out onto the moor, along with any four-legged friends and admire the beauty around us.

As we are still not allowing you all into the nursery, we will serve tea and coffee in the garden and car park with homemade cakes and treats on our return. This event will give you all the opportunity to chat and get to know one another. The children can run and play until their hearts content. I will keep you posted about the date as soon as I can.

It is with a heavy heart to announce that Miss. Donna is leaving us. She is loved and adored by all of us and all the children. It has been a privilege to work alongside her for nearly four years. She is so caring and understanding and is a fantastic nursery practitioner.

Donna’s last day will be this Thursday 18th and hopefully she will come along to our wellie walk in a couple of weeks. I will not deny, we are all gutted to see her go, she will be dearly missed be each and every one of us.

Please, please, if you send your child into the nursery wearing wellies, could you please pack them up with a pair of shoes or slippers to change into once inside the nursery.

With the Covid infection remaining high, I am still asking for parents not to enter the building.
Could I ask that you don’t park down the side of the building, sadly its not part of Edgemoor Nursery and my neighbours take humbridge at cars being parked there, even if its just a drop off.

I have booked a venue to hold a childrens christmas party but I’m still in a dilema on whether this is a safe event to plan with the covid rate still being so high? I will keep you updated on our dicision.

It clearly should be understood that you do not send your child to nursery if they are poorly to attend. We have had so many bugs and viruses going around and we are trying to cope with the massive influx of poorly children attending the setting.

We understand you need to go to work but so do we, to care and educate your children. Please be mindful of this, we catch the bugs and viruses too!

Your child should be clinically well and not Calpol dependent. Please be aware, if your child is poorly and not able to cope with their illness, you will receive a phone call from us. It takes one of us out of ratio to sit and care for them until you arrive to collect them. Please be mindful of this.
