Hello parents/carers,

This seems so late in the day to say the least, but we hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a cracking new year. I’d also like to thank you all for the lovely Christmas gifts and messages in the Christmas cards to us all, you have no idea how much it means to us.

Sadly, as I’m writing this, we’ve had a second case of Covid-19 confirmed at Edgemoor. So, on this note we are emphasising that you still wear a face covering at the front door when dropping off and picking up your child from Edgemoor and I am still asking for parents NOT to enter the building. If any child tests positive for Covid you will need to inform us as we have to report this to Ofsted.

As most of you are aware, I have been suffering with a heart condition these last twelve months, so reluctantly on doctor’s orders we put the nursery on the market. We recently accepted an offer from Sarah Russell who has a childminding setting at her home in Bere Alston. We are looking to complete on the 4th February so Sarah should be operating from Monday 7th February 2022.

Sarah decided she wanted her house back and buying Edgemoor Nursery is the ideal progression for her. Sarah has a degree in Early Years and eleven years’ experience in foundation/childcare as well as being phonic trained. She has been running her childminding business for three years.

It’s been a pleasure working and running Edgemoor Nursery over the past eight years. It’s been amazing to watch so many babies and toddlers grow into independent young people and go off to school. With Sarah taking over the helm alongside our fantastic team of staff at Edgemoor, I’m sure the care and love given to all your children will continue for years to come.

As a way of introducing Sarah to you all, I’d like to organise a wellie walk on Sunday 6th February. This will start at Edgemoor Nursery at 10:30am (introducing you to Sarah), followed by a walk around the moor from the nursery for maybe an hour, then back to the nursery carpark (weather permitting) for homemade cakes, tea/coffee and soft drinks. Sarah will be more than happy to chat and answer any questions you may have.

We have become so busy that we have welcomed a new member of staff, Danni, she’ll be working in the school room with Steph on a Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact myself, Helen or charlotte by phone 01822 855644 or send a message through the Contact Form.

Keep safe and careful

From Debbie, Helen, Charlotte, Steph, Louise, Lucy, Millie and Danni.
